Emergency First Aid 1 Day (Group Course of up to 12 Candidates)
The EFAW course is designed for low risk environments and as a contingency for First Aid cover in the event that your Workplace First Aider is unavailable.
The course contains the following:
- The role of the first aider
- Effective Casualty Communication
- Contents of First Aid box & how to avoiding cross infection
- Recording of incidents and accidents
- Assessing the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
Administer First Aid to a casualty who
- are unconscious
- require CPR
- are choking
- are wounded or bleeding
- are in shock
- have minor conditions – which include: minor cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns & scalds, small splinters
Both Level 2 & 3 First Aid courses require a Re Qualification course after a 3 year period. The First Aid at Work course Re Qualification course is a 2 day course and the 1 Day EFAW requires the candidate to repeat the course again. A half day skills update is recommended for both courses although is not mandatory. MaxSafe recommends that the annual skills update training is carried out to help maintain the skills and confidence of your nominated First Aider.
